Un nuovo ponte strallato scavalca il fiume Yamuna a Delhi, India. Il ponte ha una lunghezza di 575 m, una campata principale di 251 m ed una antenna alta 154 m e del peso di 7000 t, con particolare configurazione geometrica. L’ingegneria di costruzione del ponte è stata sviluppata da De Miranda Associati e la presente memoria illustra i concetti ed i criteri che hanno caratterizzato i metodi di costruzione adottati, alcuni particolarmente originali e interessanti, resi possibili dal contestuale progetto di speciali attrezzature concepite e realizzate per rendere possibile la costruzione di una struttura di difficile realizzazione per geometrie, pesi e dimensioni. La sfida di questa costruzione è stata vinta da una equipe multinazionale, con contributi indiani, cinesi, brasiliani e tedeschi, oltre che italiani, che è riuscita a lavorare in sintonia e buona collaborazione. La costruzione è terminata nell’Ottobre 2018, ed il ponte è in esercizio dal novembre dello stesso anno.
1. INTRODUCTION
The subject is a cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 251 metres and breadth of 36 metres, supported by cables that converge at the top of a single steel tower that is 154 metres tall. Due to its great width, the construction of the deck, with its composite steel-concrete structure, required some problem-solving. Due to its configuration, height, and weight of 7000 tonnes, the construction of the tower also posed some interesting problems that will be described later in this paper.
2. BRIDGE DESCRIPTION
The final design of bridge was supplied to the Contractor, a JV made up of Gammon India, Tensacciai from Italy and Construtora Cidade from Brazil, by the Owner DTTDC Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation and was developed by a consortium made up of the firms Schlaich – Bergerman und Partners and Construma Consultancy from Mumbai. Steelwork fabrication was carried out in China by ZTSS, its erection was managed by Gammon India, under advising direction of De Miranda Associati.
